Established in 2018 in Ahmedabad, The studio Datum is a multifaceted architecture practice that is Young, Experimental and Ambitious. The Practice passionately believes in an approach that is Layered, Contextual and Experimental in Nature. The studio is exploring various scales and typologies with a constant search to engineer new ways of blurring the boundaries between architecture and landscape. With a Highly Personalized approach, every project undertaken is process-driven, typically by a close-knit team that see the project through in its totality.
As architects we lead and guide the design process by instituting core ideas of creative ethics with social and sustainable aspects. We believe in architecture as a process of expressions – a process that expresses and communicates the sole purpose of humanity – for humanity.
Architecture cannot change the world but certainly can shape it by creating opportunities of bringing people together. We are committed towards crafting spaces, optimizing materials and creating inspiring opportunities as per contextual conditions. These opportunities, rightly so are focused on fundamental human issues of security and comfort.

Hardik Gangani
Co-founder, Principal Architect
Hardik has over 9 years of experience as a professional into the field of architecture. During his academic session he has worked under Martin Lejarraga Architecture, Cartagena, Spain 2015 and AT Architecture, Mumbai. Also Researched on Urban Sustainability indicators for small and medium cities, under Ar. Patrica Reus at Blancafort + Reus Arquitectos, Murica, Spain. He has assisted Ar. Avneesh Tiwari, AT Architecture, Mumbai 2016. As an intern. Later worked as Architect in i-con Architects & Urban Planners, Ahmedabad, where he was a core member of the team specializing in architectural and mass housing and Institutional projects. From design to till the final execution of projects. His core strength deploys in Liberating climate sensitive and economical approach to any space through a contemporized centric design. He has special aptitude to outlook the design problems with complex solutions and to gradually simplifying it during design process to acquire distinctive outcomes.
Akash Velani
Co-founder, Principal Architect
Akash has been working with the office since last many years. He has assisted Ar. Nuru Karim, N.U.D.E. Architects, Mumbai 2015. As an intern. He has taken keen interest in all the technical details through various process of execution on site and material knowledge. Later worked as Architect in i-con Architects & Urban Planners, Ahmedabad, where he was a core member of the team specializing in detailed architectural projects. From design till the final execution of projects. His Key Strength is to validate various aspects of projects like economy management Development of Various Details at each stage from structural Details, material and technology too minute details of Interior and furniture design. With his more than 9 year experience, he adds a lot of value to project conceptualization and organizational development.
Aishwarya Joshi
Co-founder, Principal Architect, M.U.H, CEPT
Aishwarya has over 8 years of experience as a professional into the field of architecture alongside she has been able to complete her post-graduation in Urban Housing from CEPT University. While being an architectural intern at i-con Architects & Urban Planners Engineers and Architects, she was able to work on tourism projects in and around Gujarat. Later worked as Architect in i-con Architects & Urban Planners, Ahmedabad, where she was a core member of the team specializing in architectural and mass housing projects. From tender documents till the final execution of projects. She had her fair share of hand in landscape design team of the firm. She has also been an intern in the EcoUrbs Consultants Pvt. Ltd. Where she has worked on masterplans of YEIDA and Dehradun master plans. Her research project for masters was Empirical Study of Pune and Impact of New Age Buyers on Pune Housing Sector, understanding the influence and changing parameters of the housing sector. Her strength lies in the collaboration of research and its practical implementation. She has been researching on sustainable and green buildings alongside the professional work. Her multi-disciplinary practice gives and edge to her professional practice.
